NHK Tiling is a licensed tiling contractor working across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, covering Vaucluse, Rose Bay, Double Bay, Bondi, Bondi Junction and Randwick. The region is predominantly harbourside and coastal, which means external tile, grout and sealing are specified for salt exposure on most properties. Three councils cover the region, which matters for skip permits and any approval question. Woollahra covers Vaucluse, Rose Bay and Double Bay. Waverley covers Bondi and Bondi Junction. Randwick has its own council.
Three councils cover a compact area in the Eastern Suburbs, and their rules are not interchangeable. A job in Vaucluse and a job in Randwick sit six kilometres apart under entirely separate authorities.
Skip permits differ. Each council sets its own conditions and fees for a skip on the roadway or nature strip. A skip inside the property boundary needs no permit anywhere, which on the larger Woollahra blocks is usually achievable and in denser Bondi streets often is not.
Heritage regimes differ. Each council maintains its own list of heritage items and conservation areas. A property individually listed as a heritage item can require approval even for internal work, while a property merely inside a conservation area generally is not affected by internal retiling. Which list applies depends on the council.
Density changes access. Woollahra’s larger blocks usually allow on-site material handling. Bondi, Bondi Junction and parts of Randwick have tighter street parking and more apartment buildings, so loading is staged more often.

Bondi and Bondi Junction have a high proportion of apartments, so most enquiries there are bathroom or balcony work under an owners corporation approval. Double Bay mixes harbourside houses with apartment buildings.
